The 2022 Asia Cup T20 tournament is just around the corner. It will begin on 27th august this year. Earlier it was scheduled to be in Sri Lanka but due to current political instability in the country, the venue is now shifted to UAE. A total of 6 teams will participate in Asia cup. For the first time after the shocking defeat to Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2021, Ind and Pak will face each other. For the first time in the World Cup matches, it happened that India had to face defeat at the hands of Pakistan.
A lot has changed for India since the end of the last T20 World Cup. From a new all-format captain to the new way of playing T20 cricket, a lot has changed. India has won every single series under Rohit’s captaincy since November 2021. And so when India takes the field to play in the Asia Cup, there will be hopes that the winning streak will continue, but according to former Pakistan captain and star wicketkeeper-batsman Sarfaraz Ahmed, when the two sides face off in Dubai next week, Pakistan team will have an upper hand against the Men in Blue.

“Pakistan morale will be high”
The 2017 Champions Trophy-winning captain said that even though India has played good cricket in the last few months, Pakistan understands the conditions in the UAE better, which will help them. Sarfaraz Ahmed said on Pak TV, “The first match of any tournament sets the tone of the whole campaign. Our first match is against India. Pakistan defeated India at the same place so our morale will be high. Pakistan is very familiar with the UAE conditions. India has played IPL here, but they don’t have that much experience of these conditions.”

Pakistan defeated India last year
Before last year, Pakistan had never beaten India in the last 12 matches (50 overs and T20 combined). But they eventually broke this record by defeating India on the 13th attempt at the Dubai International Stadium. They won the match by 10 wickets.

Indo-Pak will face each other on August 28
After about a year, these teams will again face each other in Dubai on 28 August. Pakistan would like to win again. At the same time, India will also be desperate to take revenge and level the score.
