Dates for the 2022 Asia Cup have been released. The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) announced that Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) will host the tournament in the United Arab Emirates, hence the venue has also been changed from Sri Lanka to the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The start date and end date of the Asia Cup 2022 have been made public, along with the itinerary for the competition. Asia Cup 2022 will start on August 27 of this year and end on September 11 of the same year.
The T20 format of the competition will be used as a significant warm-up for the six participating Asian countries in advance of the ICC T20 World Cup, which is scheduled to take place in Australia later this year. India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan are the five teams who have been officially confirmed to play in this year’s Asia Cup out of a total of 6. To qualify for the sixth place in the Asia Cup 2022, the UAE, Kuwait, Singapore, and Hong Kong will compete.
