India are all set to begin their Asia Cup 2022 cricket campaign with a tense match against arch-rivals Pakistan at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on August 28.
The two rival countries last met in the T20 World Cup in October last year, where Pakistan had hammered India by 10 wickets thanks to a solid opening partnership and Shaheen Afridi wrecking through India’s top order. Following that result, Team India seem determined and upbeat when they hit the nets ahead of their highly-anticipated clash.

Virat Kohli, who has been going through a prolonged lean patch, was the centre of attention as he looked in fairly good form. Kohli spent quite some time in the nets, playing some big shots against the spinners although he did look a little uncomfortable against the fast bowlers. India’s pacers Bhubaneshwar Kumar, Avesh Khan and Arshdeep Singh all had their time in at the nets.
Skipper Rohit Sharma and K.L. Rahul looked to be connecting bat with ball, producing some big shots. Pakistan, with its lethal pace attack, will prove to be a major threat to India’s top order batters and they will need to negotiation their way past the first 6-8 overs well.
