McDonald said the Australian bowlers were under pressure throughout the series because of the skills of the Indian batsmen. In the post-match press conference, the Australian batsman said,
The conversation is always going to happen. Can you get better at your death bowling? The answer is yes. We encourage our people to make good decisions and act on them. Sometimes the batsman knocks you out and we have seen the whole series with Hardik Pandya. Suryakumar Yadav was brilliant today and he will prove to be dangerous in the World Cup because he showed what he can do.
