Asia Cup 2022: Asif Ali shows the bat to hit Fareed Ahmad

Date:

In a nail-biting Asia Cup 2022 Super Fours match, Pakistan defeated Afghanistan by just one wicket. When it came down to it, Naseem Shah struck the decisive six off Fazalhaq Farooqi to ensure that India was eliminated from the Asia Cup. However, the news was dominated by the physical confrontation between Asif Ali and Fareed Ahmad.

The Super 4 encounter of the 2022 Asia Cup between Pakistan and Afghanistan will be remembered as an instant classic. The contest had almost all of it: drama, action, and almost a little amount of violence.

Asif Ali shows the bat to hit Fareed Ahmad

Fareed Ahmad dismissed Pakistan’s Asif Ali with the game in a crucial scenario. The Pakistani hitter lost control and came dangerously close to attacking the Afghan bowler. Asif appeared to warn Fareed with the bat after shoving him first. The two had to be separated since emotions were running high otherwise things would have become worse. A video of the incident has since become widely popular.

When the Pakistani batter was caught for 16 off 8 balls, it was in the penultimate over. Ahmad gave the batter a send-off as he left the field, and as he turned around, he saw Asif pushing him back, startling everyone—including the commentators. In an apparent effort to stop the bowler, he also showed his bat. This is the video:

In the video, it was seen that Fareed Ahmad had some words with Asif Ali when he dismissed him and he even showed an action which provoked Asif. These things will be considered by the officials for sure. This type of behavior in cricket is not taken lightly.

PAK vs AFG: Pakistan defeats Afghanistan

Speaking about the game, Pakistan’s right-arm bowler Naseem Shah hit two crucial sixes in the last over to help his team defeat Afghanistan by one wicket and eliminate India from the Asia Cup Super 4 on Wednesday.

Up until the final over, Afghanistan had firmly maintained control of the game, holding Pakistan to 118 for nine. But Naseem had other ideas, hitting Fazalhaq Farooqi for a pair of sixes in quick succession to eliminate both Afghanistan and India from contention for a spot in the final. Both Pakistan and Sri Lanka have guaranteed their position in the Sunday final of the competition with two victories in as many games.

India and Afghanistan, who have lost their last two games, are no longer eligible for the Sunday final as a result of the outcome.
