A total of two matches were played in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) on Sunday. In the first match, Barbados Royals defeated Guyana Amazon Warriors by 29 runs on the basis of Duckworth-Lewis rule. In the second match, Trinbago Knight Riders lost by just one run.
Batting first, St Lucia Kings scored 147 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Johnson Charles scored the highest 54 runs and David Wiese finally scored 33 runs in 14 balls with the help of 2 fours and 3 sixes. Looking at the batting of Trinbago Knight Riders, this score did not look very big but the bowlers of St Lucia bowled tremendously.
Despite Andre Russell’s smoky innings, the team lost
Tim Seifert scored 44 off 44 balls for Trinbago. At the same time, captain Kieron Pollard played an innings of 34 runs off 23 balls. Andre Russell remained unbeaten on 23 off 11 balls and Sunil Narine on 19 off 14 balls. Trinbago needed 22 runs in the last over and Andre Russell made 21 runs with one four and two sixes but the team lost by just one run.
