The ICC Player of the Month award for October has a nomination for the star Indian batter Virat Kohli. Since the awards were revealed, Kohli has never previously received a nomination. In a spectacular comeback in October, Kohli is still slamming fifty-plus scores in the T20 World Cup 2022.
He has scored three half-centuries, one each against Pakistan, the Netherlands, and Bangladesh. Kohli scored 205 runs in the month of October, displaying some of his very finest play. His 82 not out against Pakistan on the final ball of the match helped Men in Blue chase down Pakistan’s 160. It was his best performance this month.
With an incredible 82 not out from 53 balls, Kohli rallied his team from 31 for four to reach the 160 goal on the penultimate ball in a legendary performance.
India would be hopeful that Kohli maintains his successful competitiveness so far. If he is in form, it will make India pleased and increase their likelihood of winning the second T20 World Cup.
Other Nominations
In the bilateral series against India, Miller began the month by hitting 117 runs across three ODIs and 125 runs in two T20Is, including a punishing innings of 106 not out in 79 balls in Guwahati. Miller is also named on the men’s shortlist for the first time, much like Kohli.
His most notable contribution throughout the month came during the victorious run chase against the same opponent on a difficult Perth surface. This hot form was carried over to the T20 World Cup.
In 2022, Raza is having a strong year for performances and has been nominated twice in as many months. The gifted all-rounder won the prize back in August and played a significant role in ensuring Zimbabwe’s passage through to the T20 World Cup’s Super 12 rounds.
