T20 World Cup: Zimbabwe captain out of the match against West Indies, suffered from asthma attack

Zimbabwe captain Craig Ervine has been ruled out from today’s second match (WI vs ZIM) in the T20 World Cup 2022. Craig Ervine has suffered an asthma attack before this important match against the West Indies, due to which he could not participate in this match. In his place, Regis Chakabwa has taken charge of the team. While Tony Munyonga has been included in the team. It was informed on the Twitter handle of the Zimbabwe cricket team that, ‘Captain Craig Erwin is sitting out of the second T20 World Cup match against West Indies after suffering a mild asthma attack.’ Wicket-keeper batsman Regis Chakabwa has been named the captain of the team in place of Craig Ervine. Let us tell you that Zimbabwe had won against Ireland in their first match and if the team wins this match against West Indies, then the chance of going to Super 12 will increase.

Zimbabwe beat Ireland in the first group match

Zimbabwe started this T20 World Cup with a win. Under the captaincy of Craig Ervine, the team defeated Ireland by 31 runs, in which Sikandar Raza’s performance was excellent. He played an important innings of 82 runs with the bat and also took a wicket in the bowling. While captain Craig Ervine could contribute only 9 runs. After today’s match against the Windies, Zimbabwe’s last group match will be played against Scotland on 21 October.
