With 19 days till the action gets underway in Australia, the T20 World Cup is just around the horizon. Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) will be one of the seven locations where the World Cup in Australia will be played. One of cricket’s most heated rivalries between India and Pakistan will be played out at the MCG venue, which has a capacity of more than 1 lakh spectators. India and Pakistan, the two Asian Giants and cricketing giants, are scheduled to face off against one other on October 23 in a World Cup encounter for the third time this year.
Melbourne Cricket Ground’s (MCG) official Twitter account used social media to provide images of some construction being done on the pitch. The playing field was being maintained by machinery and vehicles. The MCG tweeted, “And just like that… Cricket is loaded.” Three significant matches between two Asian powerhouses have already taken place this year, two in men’s and one in women’s cricket.
The T20 World Cup will be held in six cities in addition to the famous MCG, including Geelong, Hobart, Sydney, Perth, Brisbane, and Adelaide. On October 23, an exciting game between India and Pakistan will be held in Melbourne. On November 13, the final will also take place at the Stadium. MCG will host a total of 7 games.

IND vs PAK in Commonwealth Games 2022
On July 31, 2022, India and Pakistan’s women’s teams faced off in a cricket event at the Commonwealth Games 2022, giving spectators their first taste of this intense rivalry. As a result of Sneh Rana’s spin (2/15), Pakistan was dismissed for just 99 runs in the allotted 18 overs of the match. India easily completed the task of chasing 100 in 11.4 overs with eight wickets in hand. Smriti Mandhana led her side to an easy victory with a score of 63* from 42 balls. IND vs PAK in Asia Cup
On August 28, the men’s teams from both nations squared off to start the 2022 Asia Cup. As it came down to the wire, spectators witnessed one of the finest fights between the two teams in recent memory. With their blistering speed, Bhuvneshwar Kumar (4/26) and Hardik Pandya (3/25) completely destroyed Pakistan, bowling them out for only 147 in 19.5 overs. Pakistan’s top scorer is star hitter Mohammad Rizwan, who has 43 points off 42 balls.
Both the teams again played in the super four but the Indian side lost to Pakistan.
