Former President of the Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) and former captain of Team India, Sourav Ganguly will once again be seen in the Delhi Capitals team in IPL (IPL 2023). In IPL 2019, Sourav Ganguly was working as the mentor of the Delhi Capitals team but after becoming the BCCI President, he stepped away from his post. But now he has again got a big responsibility in his old team Delhi. Sourav Ganguly has been given the post of Director of Cricket in Delhi Capitals.
Sourav Ganguly’s tenure as BCCI President came to an end last year. In his place, former India player Roger Binny got this big responsibility. Sourav Ganguly was away from the cricket field after resigning as the BCCI President but now he is back again in IPL. An IPL source told PTI that, ‘Yes, Sourav will return to Delhi Capitals from this year. He has worked with the franchisees and shares a great rapport with the owners. If he has to work in IPL, he will always do it with DC (Delhi Capitals).
According to PTI news, Sourav Ganguly will also be seen working with the other two new teams of Delhi Capitals, Pretoria Capitals and Dubai Capitals. Pretoria Capitals, the new team of the Delhi Capitals franchise, will also participate in the SA20 league to be held in South Africa this month. Along with this, the Dubai Capitals team is also a part of the Delhi team in the International League T20 to be held in Dubai and now after getting the post of Director of Cricket, Sourav Ganguly will be seen working for all the teams of Delhi franchise.
