The Indian team led by captain Rohit Sharma has left for Australia for the T20 World Cup starting from October 16. All the players of the team gathered on Thursday morning and took off for the upcoming ICC event. Only 14 players appeared in the Indian team and no decision has been taken yet regarding the replacement of Jasprit Bumrah.
The Indian team, which emerged victorious in the very first edition of the T20 World Cup in 2007, has not yet got a chance to capture the trophy for the second time. The team had traveled to the final in the 2014 World Cup but had to face defeat there too. At the same time, had to be eliminated from the semi-finals in 2016 and Super 12 in 2021.
BCCI has posted a group photo of all the players and support staff of the team on Twitter. In this, all the members are seen in the same type of dress. BCCI wrote in a tweet with the picture,
Picture perfect, let’s do this.
All-rounder Deepak Hooda is also seen in the group photo, who was injured but is now fully fit and has left with the team.
The Indian team played two series against strong teams like Australia and South Africa at their home before the T20 World Cup and were victorious in both. However, it will not be easy for the team to compensate Jasprit Bumrah. At the same time, there are some players who will be playing in Australia for the first time, so those players will have to adjust soon.
India will start their World Cup campaign against Pakistan. This match will be played on 23 October at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, for which there is a lot of excitement from now on.
