India vs Pakistan Asia Cup 2022: Ex Pakistan Cricketer Criticizes Virat Kohli

Date:

In the Asia Cup 2022 victory over Pakistan on Sunday, Virat Kohli was the team’s joint highest scorer despite having some early difficulties. Before making a 35-ball score, he had a number of reprieves. Kohli was removed by Pakistan’s Mohammad Nawaz just when it appeared that he may reach fifty runs.

The top three Indian batsmen entering the competition, K L Rahul (zero), Rohit Sharma (12 off 18), and Virat Kohli, did not fare well in the middle. Danish Kaneria, a former Pakistan cricket team spinner, was unimpressed by Kohli’s performance. Kaneria played 61 Tests and 18 ODIs for Pakistan.

Danish Kaneria criticizes Virat Kohli

Kaneria stated in a video posted on his YouTube channel that Virat Kohli was the center of attention and he failed again. He had some difficulties at first. The interior edges were numerous. Sadly, KL Rahul was bowled after getting an inside edge. Kohli was dismissed while attempting to go inside-out over the extra cover in opposition to a left-arm spinner.

While Sachin Tendulkar, with whom Kohli used to play, reportedly saw that Kohli was getting out to that shot and encouraged him to stop playing it, Kaneria claims that Kohli does play that shot extremely well. With Kohli, the same thing is taking place.

Kaneria claimed that Kohli was fortunate since he nearly lost the wicket on the second delivery only. Fakhar Zaman’s inability to hang on to the catch from Naseem Shah was fortunate for him. He had just one successful shot the entire inning. He did not play any other nice shots aside from that. Not only that, but he’ll need to get runs.

Hardik Pandya played displayed an exceptional performance

In the match, Hardik Pandya displayed an exceptional all-around performance as India maintained composure to defeat Pakistan by five wickets in their Asia Cup opener on Sunday. Under intense circumstances, Hardik (3/25 in 4 overs) demonstrated his high value by assisting India in bowling out Pakistan for 147. The middle order was under additional pressure because India’s seasoned top-three struggled during what should have been an easy chase.

A 52-run stand between Hardik (33 not out off 17) and Ravindra Jadeja (35 off 29) put India on the verge of a historic victory. India won the match thanks to the star all-three rounder’s fours against Haris Rauf off the 19th over. Hardik hit a six off left-arm spinner Mohammad Nawaz to end the game when the side needed six off three balls.
