Jamaica Tallawahs is in third place in the CPL 2022 points table. The Jamaica Tallawahs’ 2021 season was abjectly bad; they haven’t won more than half of their games in a CPL season after 2018. With a better net run rate than St Lucia Kings, who ultimately came in second place behind the eventual champion St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, they finished just one win away from the wooden spoon. However, this is not the case for them in this season.
Jamaica Tallawahs has played nine matches and has won four. This is not very good but they still managed to be in the top three. However, the competition is also tough as Trinbago Knight Riders are just behind them.

With Curtly Ambrose joining him as bowling coach in a star-studded backroom squad, new head coach Shivnarine Chanderpaul has changed his approach as a result of the departures of Andre Russell and Carlos Brathwaite.
The majority of the key players for the Tallawahs, though, have come from outside the country. Chris Green and Imad Wasim, two cunning finger-spinning all-rounders with stellar T20 records worldwide, complement Allen’s skill set. Wasim, who recorded nine wickets in six games last season, has been re-signed, while Green only managed five in ten games but did so with an economy rate of just over six runs per over.
Good bowling options
These players have performed quite well in the CPL 2022 as well. With Imad Wasim, Chris Green, Sandeep Lamichhane, and Fabian Allen, Rovman Powell have a wide range of spin options for the Tallawahs.
The addition of Mohammad Amir to the roster this year, which already has Raymon Reifer but lacks the speed of Fidel Edwards, who played four games for the Tallawahs last year, gives Migael Pretorius more left-arm variation.
Will Jamaica Tallawahs win CPL 2022?
One of the most powerful batsmen in CPL 2022, Powell will need to perform at his peak for a team that lacks a lot of batting depth. Expecting consistent runs from the opener isn’t as simple as it seems because Brandon King had a spectacular breakout season for Guyana in 2019 but then two sluggish years later. Even with a quality group of spinners, much will depend on their batting if they intend to win the CPL in 2022.
