The two-time T20 World Cup champion team West Indies has suffered a major setback. Team head coach Phil Simmons has resigned from his position. The West Indies team could not qualify for the Super-12 stage of the T20 World Cup being held in Australia. He had to face defeat from a team like Ireland and with this his journey in the T20 World Cup also came to an end. This is the reason why Phil Simmons has stepped down as coach.
The West Indies team could not qualify for Direct Super-12. He had to come in the top-2 teams of his group to make it to the Super-12 but he could not do so. The team finished at the bottom of their group due to some unexpected defeats. West Indies did beat Zimbabwe but they had to face defeat from Scotland and Ireland and due to this they could not progress in the T20 World Cup.

Phil Simmons to remain with team till Australia Test series
West Indies coach Phil Simmons has resigned from his post after this embarrassing performance. Cricket West Indies has given this information. The board said that the West Indies have to play a Test series against Australia from 30 November to 12 December. It will be Simmons’ last series as coach.
The West Indies team has won the T20 World Cup title twice. They are the only team to achieve this feat, but their journey in this World Cup ended long ago. The performance of the Caribbean team under Nicholas Pooran was very poor. The batsmen could not perform according to which they are known. Now a lot of questions are being raised on the team.
