Bangladesh captain and veteran all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan and Afghanistan star batsman Rahmanullah Gurbaz have been signed by Guyana Amazon Warriors for the remaining matches of the ongoing Caribbean Premier League 2022 (CPL 2022). The final of CPL 2022 is to be played on 30 September.
Shakib Al Hasan has replaced Tabrez Shamsi in the Guyana Amazon Warriors squad as the South African spinner returns home to complete national duty for the upcoming limited-overs series against India. Tabrez Shamsi is currently the highest wicket-taker for Guyana Amazon Warriors with eight wickets in just four matches in the ongoing CPL 2022.
Shakib Al Hasan joins Guyana Amazon Warriors for remaining matches of CPL 2022
Guyana Amazon Warriors will be Shakib Al Hasan’s third CPL franchise, having previously played for Barbados Royals and Jamaica Tallawahs in this tournament. The record for the best bowling figures in a Hero CPL match is currently held by the Bangladesh all-rounder. He recorded 6/6 figures for the Barbados franchise in the year 2013, which is the best ever in this tournament.
Meanwhile, young Afghanistan batsman Rahmanullah Gurbaz is going to debut with Guyana Amazon Warriors in CPL 2022. The 20-year-old has replaced Heinrich Klaasen in the Guyana Amazon Warriors’ squad after an impressive performance (152 runs in five matches) in the recent Asia Cup 2022.
On the other hand, Mohammad Nabi has replaced Sandeep Lamichhane in the Jamaica Tallawahs squad for the remainder of the CPL 2022. The addition of the experienced Afghanistan all-rounder will strengthen Jamaica Tallawahs’ spin attack as the franchise released Nepal spinner Sandeep Lamichhane from the team earlier this month.
