The FIFA World Cup 2022 is about to reach its peak when the final between France and Argentina begins on Sunday, December 18.
As both teams attempt to win the tournament’s championship for the third time in its existence, football fans can expect a difficult match between current World Champions France and Lionel Messi-led Argentina. While France triumphed in 1998 and 2018, Argentina won the prized trophy in 1978 and 1986.
Prize money for FIFA World Cup 2022
The winner of the FIFA World Cup final in 2022 will reportedly get a stunning $42 million in prize money, while the runner-up would receive $30 million. The $72 million in prizes will thus be treasured by the winners. While the fourth-placed squad will receive $25 million and the third-placed club will receive $27 million, respectively.
Brazil, the Netherlands, Portugal, and England will each receive $17 million as a result of their quarterfinal appearance. For making it to the round of 16, the United States, Senegal, Australia, Poland, Spain, Japan, Switzerland, and South Korea will each get $13 million. In addition, $9 million will be given to each of Qatar, Ecuador, Wales, Iran, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Denmark, Tunisia, Canada, Belgium, Germany, Costa Rica, Serbia, Cameroon, Ghana, and Uruguay for their participation in the group stages.
Messi wants to win his star-studded career’s first World Cup championship. Mbappe, on the other hand, is seeking to win his second World Cup championship after doing so in 2018.
Croatia and Morocco will compete for third place on Saturday, December 17. Morocco will try to finish third for the first time in the grand tournament’s history as an African nation.
