Following a dismal run of form with the bat, Jason Roy has been left out of England’s team for both the T20 World Cup in October and their T20 tour of Pakistan later this month.
In six T20 international matches this summer, Roy has scored just 78 runs, averaging 12.66. Additionally, he had three ducks in his first four innings of his Hundred campaign for the Oval Invincible.

Phil Salt, who has participated in four T20Is and eight one-day internationals and who scored his first century against the Netherlands in June, has been named to both squads. He could replace Roy at the top of the order alongside white-ball captain Jos Buttler, or Jonny Bairstow could move up the order.
