New Zealand head coach Gary Stead said that Darryl Mitchell was scanned and after that his injury did not appear too deep. Talking to reporters on Monday, he said,
‘We are still hopeful that Darryl Mitchell will probably be fit for the first game or if we really look at the second game.’
Darryl Mitchell will be fit till the match against Afghanistan
New Zealand’s team reached the final in last year’s T20 World Cup. This time the team has to play its second match against Afghanistan on 26 October. This match will be played at Melbourne Cricket Ground. Mitchell can play in this match.
