Even before its first match in the T20 World Cup 2022, the England team has suffered a major setback. Team’s veteran fast bowler Reece Topley has been ruled out of this tournament due to injury. Topley’s exit has dealt a big blow to the English team, as his performance was very good recently.
Reece Topley was injured before the practice match between England and Pakistan. He got his leg amputated at the boundary line before the match, which left him with a serious ankle injury. His ankle twisted during a fielding drill. For this reason, all England bowlers bowled in the match against Pakistan but Reece Topley did not take part in the match due to injury. Now he is out of the whole tournament.
England are yet to announce a replacement for Reece Topley. Either Tymal Mills or Richard Gleason could get a chance. However, compensating Topley will not be an easy task.

Reece Topley had a great performance this year
Reece Topley did the best in ODIs against India this year. He took 6 wickets for just 46 runs in the second ODI against the Indian team and gave England a big win by 100 runs. This was the best bowling performance for England in an ODI. Earlier, Paul Collingwood took 6/31 against Bangladesh.
Due to the T20 World Cup, Reece Topley did not play all the matches in The Hundred tournament. He took a break after playing only a few matches. However, now he has to be out of this tournament due to injury and this is very disappointing news for him.
