Nottingham Forest vs Chelsea Highlights
Although Forest lost 3-0 to Manchester United earlier this week, their performance before to the World Cup break showed they could fight with the Premier League’s top teams. Before the midseason break, Liverpool and Tottenham were both defeated at the City Ground, and Chelsea almost joined them following a valiant comeback by Cooper’s team.
Brennan Johnson broke through for Chelsea in the first half, but Kepa Arrizabalaga did well to save the Wales international’s shot. Chelsea rarely moved out of second gear throughout that period. Soon after, Willy Boly managed to divert Christian Pulisic’s cross against his own crossbar, allowing Sterling to tap in the rebound from close range, giving the Blues the lead (16).
But that was about it for Chelsea in terms of attacking; Potter’s team coasted to halftime before being completely outplayed by Forest in the second half.

Morgan Gibbs-White Returns
After missing some time due to a calf injury, Morgan Gibbs-White returned to the starting lineup for Nottingham Forest and nearly tied the game with a strong shot from the edge of the area that hit the crossbar and almost crossed the line.
However, it was Serge Aurier who was able to score the equalizing goal for Forest, taking advantage of weak defending by Chelsea on a corner and volleying the ball past the goalkeeper (63). As the game neared its end, Forest seemed content with the draw, giving Chelsea a chance to regain control.
Chelsea had a chance to win the game late in the match when Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang failed to connect with a perfect cross from Hakim Ziyech, but ultimately had to settle for a point that does more for Forest’s chances of avoiding relegation than it does for Chelsea’s hopes of finishing in the top four.
